You're in luck

I was just writing up my summary of days 3-6 and it seems I hit delete instead of cut so you will just have to wait for me to post the pictures to subject yourselves to the excruciating details of our trip.

You heard about Melanie's adventure with the whale and then that afternoon the group I was walking with encountered a brown bear. The next day we went out in a zodiac and watched sea otters and sea lions and humpback whales. At one point we were watching a pod of. 15 playing in front of us when one surfaced about 5-10 feet off our starboard bow (don't I sound nautical). There was a late evening zodiac ride into Devil's Terror (a small spectacular fyord) walks through rain forest and Muskeg (a sort of bog) and we lucked into seeing glaciers calving on several days.
The weather has been incredible. We had been warned to expect rain everyday- but the first 4 days were gorgeous sunny days in the 60's.
Our fellow travelers are a mix of people- mostly retirerees but several families of three generations. Seating at meals is open so we've shared meals with most of the other passengers. People came from all over the country as well as a family from Mexico City. The people are smart, which I always enjoy, and many of them have done this trip before. The naturalists are outstanding, enthusiastic as well as entertaining. What with walking, kayaking, and boating we're pretty wiped by the end of the day.
Oh, and the food has been incredible despite the lack of menu's on the website. We've had Alaskan Salmon, crabs, halibut, sable and the ricotta gnocci was "to die for. Oh, and Melanie just reminded me she's had bacon every morning.

I'm going to "send" this off on the off chance we get a cell signal sometime during the night. More later....
