Last night was the Captain's dinner and wrapup. Dinner was white salmon- a whole new experience. Yesterday besides the whales we also watched bears feeding on a dead whale. Apparantly its been there a couple. Months and they expect it to be a food source for another year.
This morning we left the ship at 8:30 for a tour of Sitka including the totem museum, the raptor rehab center, the Russian Orthadox Church and the dowtown. While it is clear that the cruise ships play a big part in the local economy it is still an active fishing port.
