Time to get back on the road!

After a quick visit to Rochester to meet Oliver on Tuesday, Melanie spent today getting ready for Josh B.'s last birthday party on Saturday.  Tomorrow AM we head off to Madison to spend Thanksgiving with Sarah and Alex and the Provan Clan. Then December hits with short trips all over the place.

And then there was another gathering of the clan(s) for Rosh Hashanah. Sarah flew in from Wisconsin and Rachel, Chad, and Noah drove up from Pa. Noah was intent on showing Sarah his new walking talents.











David had to re-examine his aversion to "hat ladies"

After services the hats were shed and everyone gathered at Sue & ELlie's where Noah continued to enlighten and entertain:

From the peanut gallery

Getting back to the Chancellor's award, before the shrimp arrived, there was actually a ceremony where the award winner's were greeted by the University President and given their award. From the peanut gallery were great cheers, and so far, only one lone picture courtesy of Aaron. Melanie just moved too fast for David. It was so wonderful to have so many of our family and friends there for the event.

Where did the summer go!

Time to catch up a little. The summer raced to a close with Dylan's birthday. Among other celebrations was a trip to the Strong Museum of Play









After learning the fine points of handling horses the next jaunt was to Newark, NJ for Jerry's birthday












Given that Melanie had used up her allotment of birthdays for the year, we found her winning the 2009 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching at Upstate University as a suitable excuse for a gathering and celebration.
